Greetings, all!! As a new way to utilize technology and tap your creative juices, we are going the blog route for this school year. I hope it is a beneficial experience for all of my classes, allowing us to discuss in more detail key themes and metaphors from our literature selections. We will also comment on current events or developments important in your lives, from the mundane to the highbrow. By year's end, we will be blog "gurus" (WHAT?? What is he sayyyyyinnng?).

Along the left hand side, you will see your class's blog homepage, from which you will access these discussions. The rules for participating in the discussions are as follows:

1. There will be absolutely no flaming of your classmates or their ideas. It is one thing to respectfully disagree with an opinion--I strongly encourage that in fact if we want to have productive dialogue. To insult their character, their self-worth, or their reputation will not be tolerated whatsoever.

2. Do not edit, delete, or alter in any way your classmates' posts. I have the administrative ability to find out who could be doing it--Big Brother is watching!!

3. For every discussion question, you will post at minimum your original post and then a response to one of your classmates (so a MINIMUM of two posts). The more you post, the better your blog grade will be at the end of the quarter.

4. Answer your questions in a timely manner. The more we keep up with the blog as the questions and responses are posted, the more genuine our dialogues will be.

I can't wait to get started with the blogging, and I hope you agree as well!!
